What:

The 2022 OEHA Annual Educational Conference will feature the theme "The Path Ahead".

When: Tuesday, April 5 to Thursday, April 7, 2022

Daily schedule:

Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 1pm-5:30pm, followed by Munch & Mingle

Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 8am-4:30pm

Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 8am-12:30pm

Details: Speakers will cover current and applicable environmental health topics, including:

indoor air quality
emergency preparedness
industrial hygiene
food safety
enforcement
reducing food waste
wildfire smoke
microplastics

About our Keynote Speaker:

The 2022 OEHA AEC Keynote Speaker will be Doug Farquhar, Director of Government Affairs at the National Environmental Health Association.

Doug Farquhar is an attorney and a senior policy director with over 25 years of experience on state legislative policy, with a focus on the nexus between state and federal policy making. He has extensive experience and expertise in providing prompt and relevant analysis of State, Federal and International legislation and regulation, including preparing legislative analysis, comparing state approaches to policy, as well as developing intergovernmental policy portfolios. Mr. Farquhar has 30 years of experience working with policy makers on environmental and health issues. Primarily working with state legislatures, he has testified 60 times before legislative committees in 36 states, in addition to consulting with state agency staff in every state on enlightening state policy makers. He has written books and articles on state legislative policy and was a columnist for NEHA’s Journal of Environmental Health prior to taking on his current role.

Additional Activities:

The 2022 OEHA AEC will also include a silent auction, the proceeds of which will support OEHA, Educational Opportunities and Environmental Health Scholarships. Examples of items being auctioned include ski and sightseeing passes from Mt. Bachelor, golf at Aspen Lakes, items from Hydroflask and more.

The 2022 AEC will also include recognition of outstanding members of the Environmental Health profession, as well as Munch & Mingle social events for networking.

How do I get involved?

The registration for the 2022 OEHA AEC is closed because the event is ‘sold out’. Like many other events over the last few years, our 2020 conference was postponed due to the pandemic. The 2022 OEHA AEC is taking the place of the long awaited 2020 OEHA AEC that was postponed.

If you aren't able to attend the 2022 OEHA AEC and you're interested in attending an OEHA event, please look for our smaller regional OEHA gatherings throughout the year, or plan ahead to attend the 2023 OEHA Annual Education Conference.

How do I reserve my hotel room?

The deadline for reserving rooms for the OEHA Conference with a guaranteed government rate at the Hampton Inn & Suites is March 11, 2022. After March 11, room reservations in the OEHA block and a government rate are not guaranteed. Make your room reservation today!

What precautions is OEHA taking to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission?
