Happy Environmental Health Specialist Day!

Happy Environmental Health Specialist Day!

Governor Tina Kotek of Oregon has declared June 5, 2026, as Environmental Health Specialist Day in the state. She invites all residents of Oregon to participate in this observance with this statement:

Governor Tina Kotek has officially proclaimed June 5, 2026, as Environmental Health Specialist Day in Oregon – a well-earned recognition of the dedicated professionals who keep our people and places safe. The day coincides with the United Nations' Environment Day, established to promote environmental awareness and action.

This proclamation highlights your expertise, public service, and commitment to tackling emerging challenges like climate impacts, communicable disease risks, and environmental hazards.

To all our Environmental Health Specialists: take a moment to celebrate yourselves, acknowledge the difference you make, and give yourselves a well-deserved pat on the back – and don’t be shy about sharing the recognition. Consider notifying your agency leadership and communications team so they can spotlight the impact of your work across your organization and community. You deserve the recognition
