Environmental Health Booth Volunteer Needed at Ready Fair (October 10th, 2026)
The Oregon Department of Emergency Management (OEM) is seeking Environmental Health partners to host a booth at the 2nd Annual Ready Fair on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. at OEM in Salem.
Ready Fair is a free community preparedness event that attracted nearly 400 attendees last year. The event features interactive preparedness stations, emergency preparedness resources, and family-friendly activities.
We are looking for an Environmental Health program to staff the Waste and Hygiene booth, sharing simple preparedness information on staying healthy before, during, and after disasters, including waste management following major emergencies such as earthquakes.

Smoke and wildfire season are officially upon us. In Central Oregon, several fires are burning and the smoke is thick in the air. We all know this can be a significant public health risk, and can cause significant stress in our communities.
