OEHA E-Blast: OEHA AEC Updates and Deadlines, Call for Award Nominations

Every year at the AEC, awards are given to outstanding Environmental Health Professionals, and we are currently accepting nominations! Please take a moment to think of leaders and professionals you know and consider nominating them for the following awards. These, and their criterion, can be found in our Bylaws.


  1. President's Roster for Outstanding Leadership

    1. Recognize an individual who has served faithfully in the position as President of the Association. The President shall be recognized for each year of service.

  2. Environmental Health Specialist/Sanitarian of the Year

    1. Recognize an individual who, in the past year, has made an extraordinary contribution to the growth of OEHA or to the growth, promotion, and progress the overall field of Environmental Health in Oregon, the nation, or the world.

  3. Verne Reierson Meritorious Service Award

    1. Recognize an individual who, over a number of years, has made an extraordinary contribution to the growth of OEHA or to the growth, promotion, and progress the overall field of Environmental Health in Oregon, the nation, or the world.

  4. Ci Sherman Legislative Award

    1. Recognize an individual who, in the last year, has promoted or contributed to Environmental Health trough legislation, or made a non-job related contribution of significant impact on the growth and progress of the association or the profession

  5. Ray Ruff Editorial Award

    1. Recognize an individual who, in the last year, made a significant contribution to the OEHA Newsletter or other environmental health publication, or made a contribution to the dispersal of public health educational materials, resulting in a greater public understanding of public and environmental health issues.

Hotel Discount Expires Monday, September 8th! AEC


Don't forget to book your room before it's too late. The Cut-off Date for the per diem hotel room block is Monday, September 8, 2025.

  • In order to book your room using our block code, be sure to use the following instructions:

    • Call the Salem Holiday Inn at 503-370-7888 

      • Option (1) reaches central reservations, and option (2) reaches the front desk on property (either option can book your reservation).

    • Use block code "EHA" or block name "OR Environmental Health Association."

    • Reminder: If booking and/or paying with a credit card other than your own, credit card authorizations are done via a secured link. When booking, request a CC authorization link be sent to the email of your purchasing official.

Don't forget to register for the AEC! Registration for the event closes on September 19th. Please sign up before then to avoid missing out on a week of networking, education, and fun!

Bring it to the AEC Raffle! This year we are asking counties to bring a gift/gift basket that represents their jurisdiction's flair. This is our main fund raiser for the year, so please do consider bringing something to share! Reach out to Jaime Craig at jaime.craig@tillamookcounty.gov to let us know what you'll be bringing.
